The Governing Body at Cox Green School is highly effective in fulfilling its responsibilities and giving the school direction and focus, by performing a vital strategic role.
The key role of the Governing Body is to:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
There are various types of Governors, either elected by Parents, Staff or appointed by members of the Cox Green School Academy Trust, in line with the Articles of Association.
Governors provide strategic direction and guidance, both directly and through a number of Committees focused on different aspects of the school. The Committees meet at least once a term and are:
- Leadership & Management
- People & External Relations
- Finance & Resources
- Teaching & Learning
